Where to meet
We meet at Widemouth Bay car park (EX23 0AW) at our trailer which is opposite the Life Guard hut. We have some flags up to help you spot us!
When to meet
Please arrive 10 mins prior to the start time.
How long is the lesson and when do they run
The lessons last 2 hours and are arranged around the tide times to give you the best possible experience in the surf. Lesson times can be confirmed by either looking on our on-line booking service, or ringing the office on 01288 362900.
What to bring
We provide all the specialist equipment including wetsuits and surfboards. You just need swimwear under the wetsuit and a towel. We strongly recommend sun cream and if it’s a cold day, bring some warm clothing to get changed into afterwards.
Swimming ability and Fitness
You need to be water confident, which means although you don’t have to be able to swim, you must be comfortable in the water when within your depth. Just an average fitness level is fine for a beginners lesson.
How far do we go out in the sea
The session is run amongst the waves in waist to chest depth of water. If the surf is small and conditions appropriate, we often give you the opportunity to paddle further out and catch the unbroken waves to give you an even longer ride!
8 years old.
Up to 8 people with one surf coach.
Bad weather cancellation
Rain and wind doesn’t matter, however we will have to cancel a lesson very occasionally if we feel the surf and sea conditions aren’t appropriate or safe. If the RNLI Lifeguards close the beach and put up the red flag we will also cancel the lesson. We will give you as much notice as possible, however occasionally if the forecast was inaccurate we may have to cancel on the day. If we have to cancel your session, we can re-arrange or give a full refund. As an alternative, if there is no surf at all we may be able to offer you a coasteering session instead.
