FAQ for Group Activity, Adventure and Team Building Days

Where to meet for your activity session?

This depends on which activity your group has chosen to do as the locations are varied. To find out where your activity will be running please ring our office on 01288 362900.

When to meet?

Please arrive 15 mins prior to the start time.

How long is the activity session and when do they run?

The activity sessions usually last for 2 hours and the date, start and finish times are arranged to suit your group. However as a guide they usually start at either 0945 or 1345.

What your group should bring?

We provide all specialist equipment for the activity such as wetsuits, helmets, buoyancy aids, surfboards etc. Your group will need to bring suitable clothing and this will be explained when you book.  As a guide, depending on if it is a water or land based activity, it will just be things like swimwear, towel, old warm clothes and trainers etc. We strongly recommend sun cream when appropriate.

Swimming ability and fitness?

For surfing you need to be water confident, which means although you don’t have to be able to swim you must be comfortable in the water when within your depth. For coasteering you need to be able to swim 2 lengths of a 25 metre pool. For all activities an average level of fitness is required.

Minimum Age?

This is dependent on the activity and can be confirmed at the point of enquiring. As a guide, surfing is 8 years old, coasteering 12 and land based activities 5.

Group sizes?

Depending on National Governing Body guidelines for the specific activity, this ranges from between 8 to 12 in a group with either 1 or 2 instructors.

Bad weather cancellation?

Sometimes we do have to cancel an activity session if we feel the conditions are either not appropriate of unsafe. Rain and wind doesn’t usually matter, however we will have to cancel the activity if extreme weather or unsuitable sea or surf conditions prevail. In the unlikely situation this happens we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and we will keep in close contact with you the day before. If we do have to cancel, we can re-arrange your session or give a full refund. As an alternative we may be able to offer you a different activity which can still run in the conditions.
