Snow Covered Cornwall is stunning….

Snow and sand rarely go hand in hand, in Cornwall. It’s incredibly rare for snow to settle in the county. And this winter the country has experienced the most snowfall of the past decade.

In the 35 years Outdoor Adventure has been running we have experienced a vast range of weather conditions, from storms to heatwaves. However, we can’t remember a time where we have ever had a group staying at the centre during a blizzard! For the ‘Beast from the East 2’, we had a group from Forest Hall School who were staying with us for a GCSE climbing weekend. When the snow fell, we made some adjustments to the schedule and brought some of the climbing inside to a local climbing wall. However, we did manage to get the group outside for some real sea-cliff climbing. We also had a small flurry of snow for our first group of the season back at the beginning of February. Lots of excited children and instructors ensued.

Our beautiful county looked even more incredible under a scattering of snow. Here is a collection of our photos from the centre and surrounding area.

Whilst we have thoroughly enjoyed the snow, we’re very much ready for Spring and Summer! We’re looking forward to making the most of our British Summer and enjoying all of the outdoor activities we can.
