Outdoor Adventure’s residential school trips

Residential school trips at Outdoor Adventure are the perfect setting for primary schools thanks to the experience and approach of our highly trained staff and our small size, which results in a more hands on, personal experience for guests.

Perched on the cliff overlooking the jaw dropping Atlantic Ocean and Widemouth Bay sits Outdoor Adventure. We cater for up to 65 pupils plus staff which allows our instructors and guides to build closer relationships with the pupils and tailor their week of adventure to their own specific requirements and needs.

These smaller, tailored sessions in activities such as surfing, bodyboarding, coasteering, coastal traversing, archery and kayaking, to name a few, allow for a calm, unrushed and most importantly, fun filled activities that students, teachers and instructors get the full benefit from. As a teacher, you are also given the opportunity to really get to know your pupils and make that essential bond which we can make all the difference when back at school. The pupils also get to see their teachers in a totally different setting and by sharing all the new experiences with them, trust and team spirit builds throughout the week.

For year groups we offer your school sole occupancy of our centre which is now considered very unusual in this industry much to our surprise! From our testimonials, we have come to learn that this proves very effective in supporting many of the Key Stage 2 curriculum requirements such as key skills, PSHE and citizenship.

It also has several key benefits for pupils, such as;

  • Experience new, exciting & challenging activities
  • Bring out hidden strengths & talents
  • Boost self-esteem & confidence
  • Develop social skills
  • Build independence
  • Become a team

Below you will find testimonials from people who have experienced OA first hand;

“Your staff were friendly, welcoming, confidence-inspiring, knowledgeable and keen to ensure that all involved both enjoyed the activities and learnt something from them. There was an excellent balance on all activities between fun and education and a reassuring emphasis on safety. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending OA for a challenging and enjoyable educational experience.”  Bruce Paton – Whitstone Head School

“I have been to many activity centres in the UK during my career and Outdoor Adventure has been the best by far. The staff, food, accommodation and activities were outstanding. ” Lisa Boag – St Chadds School, Essex
