7 top spots to eat and drink in Bude

Whether you’re a family after a nice evening meal, a surfer looking for a quick bite to eat, a couple looking for a romantic night or anything in between we have selected some of the top spots to eat in Bude. There are so many amazing places to check out in Bude and this small list could never outline them all but we have tried our best to showcase the different places to eat or drink which all offer something different!

ELEMENTS

Situated high on the cliff top between Bude and Widemouth Bay, Elements offers some amazing views of the North Cornish coastline. The Italian style restaurant serves pizzas, pastas, fish and more which is open all day serving drinks and food. Children can eat from a selection of dishes from the main menu, at half the price and receive half the portion! You can choose to eat either in the panoramic sea view restaurant, on the terraces under the heaters or enjoying the sea views around the front of the building. There is plenty of parking and access here right along the coast path. Dogs are not permitted inside the restaurant but they are certainly welcomed outside on the terraces at Elements.

THE BEACH AT BUDE

The Beach at Bude offers both a Bar and Restaurant serving delicious cocktails and food with views over the Summerleaze Beach. On a sunny day you can sit outside where there’s usually a buzzing atmosphere on the terrace overlooking the beach making it a perfect place to watch the surf or catch the sunset! The Beach at Bude serve a great selection of food with daytime food offers and also offer an extensive range of wines, champagnes, beers and spirits! Though not dog friendly inside, the terrace happily allows dogs with water bowls filled to keep your dog happy after a walk across the beach or coastal paths!

THE BEACH HOUSE AT WIDEMOUTH

The Beach House is located to the north side of Widemouth Beach with its own private access right down onto Widemouth Beach. It’s beach bar has been listed in the  Top 20 beach-side bars& restaurants in the UK by The Times. Here you can sip on a coastal cocktail or Cornish beer with a stunning sandy view while also tucking in to some amazing seafood and spices, steaks or skewers inspired by flavors from all over the world.  This place is family friendly with dogs welcomed in a chilled out beach-side environment with some great music, events and food to keep everyone happy at the beach!

WIDEMOUTH MANOR

Widemouth Manor is located just a short walk from Outdoor Adventure and Widemouth Beach. Set high on the hill overlooking Widemouth, the Manor sets itself up to be an amazing place to grab a drink and watch the sun set perfectly over the ocean. Widemouth Manor also offers a variety of dining and eating options with something for everyone. There are various menus and specials available from Locally Produced Phillip Warren Steaks to veggie options in the main restaurant. If you have a dog, you can eat in the public bar or if you are a couple or friends looking for a relaxed, cool place to watch the sunset and grab a cocktail or gin, Widemouth Manor recently opened their Sunset Lounge with an upstairs decking area making it a perfect place for adults to grab a relaxing, quiet drink!

ROSIE’S KITCHEN AND STARBOARD

Set just off Crooklets beach in Bude, this place offers two different restaurants under one roof to totally try and cater for everyone including any four-legged friends. With an outside play area and Cornish ice cream for the kids and cold Cornish beer, cider or coffee for the adults you will struggle to not find something you like! There is a wide selection of food from nibbles,  salads, fish and chips or even a fresh wood-fired pizza to enjoy right by the beach making it a perfect midday or end of the day beach stop off.

WIDEMOUTH CAFE 

If you’re looking for a quick but great breakfast straight off the beach with breathtaking ocean views Widemouth Café is not one to miss. The Café is situated right off the beach with parking available in the Council car park. Ice creams, sandwiches, soups, cream teas, cheesy chips and other snacks are also served alongside the all-day breakfast with dogs allowed inside and outside the beach-side café all year round.

THE BRENDON ARMS

The Brendon Arms is a perfect family friendly and family run pub in Bude right off the canal path and beach. The pub offers a perfect outside suntrap in their beer garden with food served all day making it a perfect stop off place to grab a pint and food.  The Brendon Arms stocks a range of real ales from Cornish and national brewers and serves traditional pub food using locally sourced products. They  also offer both vegetarian and gluten free options!  You can play darts or pool and watch Sky and BT Sport with dogs welcomed in the public bar side. There is also an outside TV so nobody has to miss the match on a hot Cornish day!
