5 reasons why Cornwall is good for you

Our beautiful county of Cornwall offers so much which can help with your both physical and mental health.  Whether this is a secluded beach to clear your head, catch your breath and immerse yourself with nature, an eco-spa retreat, year-round activities or indulging in some of the UK’s freshest and yummiest seafood or vegan delights. We are proud to call Cornwall our home and we truly believe Cornwall is good for you!

Cornwall has some truly spectacular beaches with dramatic cliff tops, a stunning coastline, clear waters and golden sandy beaches. Cornwall is almost surrounded by sea, you are never more than 20 miles from the ocean and has the longest coastline in Britain which stretches 422 miles with 158 miles of this designated as Heritage Coast.

Back in 2014, it was also reported that the sea temperature in Cornwall was actually hotter than it was in California, USA! You are really spoilt for choice for beaches to sunbathe and relax on and oceans and coves to swim and explore.

The pasties, the cream teas, the ice creams, the amazing seafood and so much more! Cornwall has so many iconic sweet and savoury treats to indulge and has previously been named as the UK’s foodie capital and it’s not hard to see why. There are many great restaurants and cafes offering everything from quick, healthy vegan bites in the backstreets of Falmouth to unreal fine dining experiences from some world-renowned chefs along the harbour in Padstow. Let’s also not forget all the spectacular food and drink festivals!

Cornwall offers the chance to leave the hustle and bustle and noise of the city behind you. Forget high-rise buildings, petrol fumes and noise pollution; you can leave all of that behind and escape to Cornwall’s rolling hills, quaint cottages and most importantly – peace and quiet! Cornwall has some fantastic sights to see and beautiful places to get lost in to help clear your mind and have some time to yourself and family such as a walk on the South-West coast path or a bike ride through Cardinham Woods.

Whether it’s a relaxing weekend, overnight stay or day in the spa Cornwall is a haven of beautiful relaxing spa gardens, sea-view swimming pools and indulgent treatments to nourish your mind, body and soul with options to suit every taste and pocket. There is honestly nowhere else in the country which offers such a diverse and competitive range of excellent spas with spectacular countryside and ocean views alike all across the county. We are more than sure that these will take your breath away while allowing you to escape from the craziness of everyday life.

We all know that exercising has extraordinary health benefits both physically and mentally. Cornwall has a great range of both land and sea-based activities which can positively impact both your physical and mental health. Whether this be an exhilarating walk along the South-West coast path, a Surf or SUP on one of the many great beaches or taking part on a more extreme activity holiday with us here at Outdoor Adventure on a UK Family Activity Holiday there is so much to do to improve your health and immerse yourself in Cornish life.
