Our Safety Standards
Since 1981 Outdoor Adventure has been at the leading edge of this industry and has an outstanding, proven track record in the highest standards of Health and Safety. The centre fulfils all County Council Health and Safety requirements and is licensed by AALA (Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority). In addition we chose also to become approved by the major sport governing bodies,
- The BCU (British Canoe Union),
- SurfGB (Surfing Great Britain),
- RYA (Royal Yachting Association),
- NCC (National Coasteering Charter).
Outdoor Adventure has always been totally customer focused and operates a quality assurance system that works. Our staff are always around asking you how things are going and we make sure we gain your open and honest feedback at the end of your week. Your ideas and suggestions prove invaluable to us and most of the centre improvements and innovations to our holidays have come directly from you!
Secure Centre policy and child protection
Our staff team are fully vetted, DBS checked and trained in child protection. A duty instructor fully qualified in first aid, remains on-site and on call throughout the night period.
Our commitment to the environment
Outdoor Adventure is environmentally aware and pro-active. We are a provider of the John Muir Environmental Award and are on our way to becoming an Eco Centre. We work closely with English Nature, The National Trust, The Heritage Coast, The Forestry Commission and The Marine Conservation Society.
Our team pass on our knowledge of the environment to our customers with the John Muir philosophy for wild places: “Discover Explore, Conserve and Share.” We regularly monitor all of our activity locations to ensure our usage is not having any negative impact and by taking this approach, we can enjoy these amazing places with our guests without spoiling them for others. For the benefit of everyone, it is important that everything we do is sustainable.
Transport when here
Outdoor Adventure runs a fleet of minibuses and fulfils all the requirements to operate minibuses legally. We have a PSV (Public Service Vehicle operator’s license) and our drivers are PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) qualified. We also operate vehicles under the Councils Private Hire Vehicle scheme. As well as our daily safety checks, our minibuses are inspected by a DOT garage every 10 weeks.
