Schools Activity Week

A week of fun and opportunity where pupils can experience a wide range of new and exciting land and water based sports. Pupils become aware of a whole new world in the outdoors and develop new skills and increased self-confidence. The week can be a great catalyst to a healthier lifestyle.

Our Activity Weeks are proving to be an excellent way to give pupils valuable experiences and learning opportunities in a large range of subject areas across the curriculum including Key Skills, PSHE and Citizenship.

The activities take place in spectacular unspoilt locations where students get a real experience and lasting impression of the sport. An evening programme is included to ensure there is not an excess of free time and that the pupils can make the most of their time with us.

The programme below is an example of a customised week at Outdoor Adventure. When you book our experienced team will discuss your needs and the outcomes you wish to achieve and will then customise your programme with you.

Choose your programme from the following activities

Surfing

A must if you are in Cornwall !

Whether it’s getting the buzz from your first wave or the challenge of learning to bottom turn on a green wave your surfing moments will stay with you forever.

Bodyboarding

Another thrilling way to surf the waves. Just enjoy catching the broken waves close to the beach or try out some radical manoeuvres - 360s, aerial re-entries and tube rides.

Kayaking

An incredibly versatile sport. It has everything from tranquil paddling up calm rivers to the adrenaline rushes from white water rapids, battling against the surf or taking on a solo ocean crossing.

Canadian Canoeing

A great way to journey. This is the method of transport that the Indians used to use. Our canoes can carry from 2 to 4 people in a boat and provide a perfect activity for a group to enjoy.

Climbing

Experience real exhilaration and the satisfaction of conquering a rock face with the sea crashing beneath you. Start off on an easy route to gain confidence and then take on a tricky one and get the rush of being exposed on a rock face.

Abseiling

You can’t beat the thrill of abseiling down a Cornish cliff face. As you descend you can marvel at the spectacular views all around. A great confidence boost.

Archery

Archery takes place in the fantastic location of our level lawn within the Centre grounds overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Where better to learn?!

Coastal discovery/walking

We are spoilt for choice for fabulous walks - anything from an easy stroll to walking on challenging terrain crossing breathtaking valleys with steep climbs. Fantastic for wildlife.

Coastal traversing

An unusual activity where you make your way along the base of the sea cliffs over or under whatever comes your way. Pick your route and try to stay dry!

Orienteering

A fun and diverse sport for everyone. Potter - walk - run - compete. Learn and then put your navigation skills to the test in our huge forest stretching down to the sea.
