| Why
Outdoor Adventure?
At Outdoor Adventure we tailor our provision to suit the diverse needs of schools and colleges. This ranges from activity and teambuilding weeks to providing programmes for students aged
7-19 across a range of curriculum and course requirements. We don’t make you fit into a standard programme but customise everything we do. The full day and evening programme takes place in spectacular unspoilt locations.
Sole occupancy
Our small centre size enables us to offer sole occupancy. This has many advantages for the visiting group and leads to a very personal experience in a relaxed atmosphere. This personal approach ensures maximum opportunities for each student. We cater for groups up to 60 plus staff who come free of charge. Sole occupancy is available to groups of 40 or above.
A wealth of experience
Outdoor Adventure has 23 years experience in the outdoor education and leisure industry. We run high quality outdoor programmes delivered by a motivated team who have excellent people skills and relate to your students in a way that brings out the best in them. They have a wealth of experience and resources in the fields of coaching outdoor pursuits, leadership, personal development, outdoor education, marketing, quality assurance, health and safety management and customer care. With this experience and commitment to quality, Outdoor Adventure is a powerful venue for students studying courses related to the outdoor industry. They will be attending a centre at the cutting edge.
Real
adventure in safety
We give your students the opportunity to experience the real activity in
its natural environment. They experience real adventure and learning in safety. This is made possible by a highly qualified
and
experienced team of staff.
Environmentally aware
Outdoor Adventure is environmentally aware and pro-active. We pass-on our knowledge to students and work closely with English Nature, National Trust, Heritage Coast, Forestry Commission, Marine Conservation Society and the John Muir
Envionmental Award Scheme.
Centre
approval
Outdoor Adventure fulfils county council safety requirements and is licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority. It has an excellent track record and is also approved by the BCU, BSA, RYA and the John Muir Environmental Award Scheme. Outdoor Adventure also holds the Investor In People award.
Secure Centre Policy
All of our staff are fully vetted before employment. This includes CRB checks. As part of their induction, they attend a course on child protection. A duty instructor who is a qualified first-aider is on-site and available throughout the night. The Centre's gates and all external doors which are operated by keypads are locked at night. The duty instructor makes checks to ensure downstairs windows are shut and the Centre is secure
Accommodation
The accommodation consists of comfortable staff rooms and spacious bunked
rooms for the students. The layout of the Centre allows us to easily separate male and female students both in sleeping arrangements and toilet and shower facilities. This is because many of the rooms have en suite facilities. Staff rooms are positioned to allow close and easy access to your students. Our cleaners work every day to ensure a high standard of cleanliness.
Food
All programmes include full-board comprising full English breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal. The home-cooked food is tasty, healthy, varied and plentiful. We also cater for vegetarians and special diets. Meals are designed to ensure they are enjoyable and suitable for your students.
Key
Reasons why schools and colleges choose our centre
The small centre capacity gives many advantages to the
group visiting. Some of the advantages fed back to us most often
are:
-
Small fully-contained centre in a spectacular location overlooking the
Atlantic Ocean with its own ten acres of coastal land away from towns
and other distractions.
- Sole
occupancy option available for groups of 40 plus.
-
Maximum value for money from a quality product rather than the
students going through 'the treadmill' of a large activity centre.
- The
small capacity of our centre allows the personal touch providing a superb
opportunity for the personal development and building of confidence
for each student.
- Unique
'special' atmosphere at the centre created by our staff being committed
to their job and the team's values at Outdoor Adventure.
This ensures a relaxed and enjoyable stay.
- Highest
standards of safety and security.
- Clear
and easy lines of communication between centre staff and teachers due
to centre size.
-
High quality of food and accommodation.
- As
well as the programme being tailored to your group before arrival, we
still have the flexibility to make changes if required.
