Centre Approval

Since 1981 Outdoor Adventure has been at the leading edge of this industry and has an outstanding, proven track record in the highest standards of Health and Safety. The Centre fulfils all County Council Health and Safety requirements and is licensed by AALA (Adventurous Activities Licensing Authority). In addition we chose also to become approved by the major sport governing bodies, The BCU (British Canoe Union), BSA (British Surfing Association), RYA (Royal Yachting Association). We also hold the John Muir Environmental Award and Investors in People.

Quality Assurance

Outdoor Adventure has always been totally customer focused and operates a quality assurance system that works. Our staff are always around asking you how things are going and we make sure we gain your open and honest feedback at the end of your week. Your ideas and suggestions prove invaluable to us and most of the Centre improvements and innovations to our holidays have come directly from you!

Accommodation

Wake to the roar of the waves! We have a great range of rooms available. En suite family bunk rooms, doubles and twins. Many of the rooms have stunning sea views and all rooms are clean, bright, centrally heated and well-ventilated. The centre has numerous hot showers and toilet and our cleaners are in every day. Food

Enjoy your meals inside our out on our cliff top. Either way you will be overlooking the stunning Atlantic Ocean. All meals are tasty, home-cooked, varied, healthy and plentiful. We cater for vegetarians and special diets. Breakfast includes fruit juice, cereal, full English breakfast, toast and marmalade and tea and coffee. A wholesome packed lunch is provided. Adult evening meal comprises 3 courses with our very special barbecue night!

Board Riders Bar

A great place to relax and mull over your new experiences of the day with like minded people. With a Mediterranean feel it has a great holiday atmosphere, wide selection of drinks, music and a spectacular seated patio area overlooking the surf.

The Centre has everything you could need. A TV room with a sea view and extensive range of extreme sport DVDs, internet access, a laundry room, drying rooms, a secure equipment store, car parking, climbing wall, ten acres of beautiful Centre grounds to walk in, a problem solving course, orienteering course, spectacular cliff top seating, a campfire and acoustic music area - not to mention our own private beach!

Equipment

We use the latest activity equipment available and go for the top of each range as the kit you use makes a big difference on a holiday like this. We are also continually renewing it. Our equipment maintenance and quarantine system ensure all the equipment is in first class condition.

Transport when here

Outdoor Adventure runs a fleet of minibuses and fulfils all the requirements to operate them safely and legally. We hold a PSV (Public Service Vehicle operator’s license) and our drivers are PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) qualified. As well as our daily safety checks, the minibuses are inspected by a DOT garage every 10 weeks.

Our commitment to the environment

John Muir TrustOutdoor Adventure is environmentally aware and pro-active. We are a provider of the John Muir Environmental Award and are on our way to becoming an Eco Centre. We work closely with English Nature, The National Trust, The Heritage Coast, The Forestry Commission and The Marine Conservation Society.
Our team pass on our knowledge of the environment to our customers with the John Muir philosophy for wild places: "Discover Explore, Conserve and Share." We regularly monitor all of our activity locations to ensure our usage is not having any negative impact and by taking this approach, we can enjoy these amazing places with our guests without spoiling them for others. For the benefit of everyone, it is important that everything we do is sustainable.
